The Salt and Tar Music Weekender returns to Bootle on Sunday 16th and Monday 17th August 2026. Nile Rodgers & CHIC headline, alongside The Waterboys and The Saw Doctors. Bootle Strand regeneration works have pushed the festival to a temporary new home for 2026 only. It now takes place at Lock and Quay, on the canalside.

Lock and Quay sits at 2 Irlam Road, Bootle L20 4AH. It is a short walk from Bootle Oriel Road, Bootle New Strand and Bootle bus station. Getting there is easy from across Liverpool and Merseyside. But thousands of people will head to the same spot over the two-day event. Expect tight parking and road access around Bootle, especially in the evening as the headline sets approach.
